Best Cozumel Excursions for Kids?

We are taking our kids to Paradise Beach. It is relatively new (about a year I think) and they have beach chairs, unbrella's, floating mats and a huge floating climbing rock...all for free. They also have a restaurant and bar. It looks pretty nice and has gotten great reviews over on the Cozumel Port boards. Also, at San Fran beach right next door they rent waverunners and have parasailing. Check out the Cozumel board for more info!

We are looking at trying the dune buggies when we go on the Disney Magic in January 2006. cozumelhomes.com is the site and has pictures and a description. It looks like a blast and my 7 year old son already can't wait.

I should have also said that the dune buggies excursion includes lunch, snorkeling and all the beverages (beer, soda, water) you can drink. I think I learned of it on this board somewhere.

I was just going to reply about Paradise Beach, and someone beat me to it...

We loved it there. I took pictures in the link in my signature under the Grandeur of the Seas cruise.

When we took our kids last year, on the Enchantment, to Cozumel we rented a minivan (we have 4 kids age 13,12,10,9) and drove to the Natural Bridge, then had lunch at Coconuts, then went into town, and then to Mr. Sanchos. We then did some shopping at the pier before returning to the ship. It was a great day, and they had a lot of fun. I think they would have like Paradise Beach better though. Paradise is new, and wasn't there a year ago, or we would have gone there.

Have a great cruise,

Bobbie

My advice would be the Dolphin Discovery.

We have been to Cozumel several times and if this is your first trip this would be very memorable. It tends to be very popular so book early. Your chances are slim to get in as a walk in. In addition, there is the $10 cab fare(for up to 4 people)each way, and a $10 admission to the park, not included in yout ticket BUT it will be the most memorable vacation excursion, guarenteed and you don't have to be a good swimmer! We did the Royal swim(not offered by the cruise)ans got to kiss them, ride them and have them pull use around(just like Sea World) then they let us swim with them. It is awsome and worth every penny.

The Royal Swim at Dolphin Discovery is terrific! Another fun thing is the Cozumel Mini Golf! It is beautifully landscaped and a really nice retreat from the "city".
Ask any questions you want about it or Cozumel from Sally (owns the mini golf) on the
Ports of Call-Cozumel board.
She knows everything about Cozumel and will not steer you wrong.

we went to Chakkanaab Park (spelling?)We had a difficult time docking due to the winds so we did not get out as early as we hoped. A friend who has been to Cozumel about 20 times gave us these tips....Get off the ship as soon as it docks (you will beat the excursions by a good hour)hop a cab to the park ($10 for up to 4 people) The admisson fee is $12 PP.We arrived about 9:15 and the place was relatively empty. Snorkeled for an hour and a half. (Bring a box of cereal from the ship. We scattered Fruit Loops and within seconds there was literaly hundreds of fish surounding us (as soon as I get the under water film developed I'll post the pics) We were finished and heading back to the ship as the excursions were lined up to enter the park.

One thing I forgot to mention, when you book thru Dolphin Discovery, they will confirm your reservation and tell you that videos start at 29.95(reasonable)but reality is 49.95(well worth every penny!)The pics are actually 14-20 each and advertised at 10.00.(Overrated).
