ckl Posted October 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2008 My husband & I had enjoyed very much our ship's excursion last March. We started the tour with a boat ride from the cruise port to Pelican Marina, right at Palm Beach (Radisson). On the way to the marina, we saw Aruba's best beaches. They were beautiful! We're going back to Aruba on Dec 23rd and would like to take a ferry/boat to Palm Beach Radisson (if available), spend several hours on the beach, then take a taxi or a ferry back to cruise port again. Is there any public ferry/boat that leaves from the cruise port to Palm Beach (Radisson) and back. If so, what's their schedule of departures/arrivals and the cost? Thank you in advance for any info. Arubalisa Posted October 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 24, 2008 The boat ride you took last time was "included" as part of your tour. There are no regularly scheduled ferries or other boat trips between Oranjestad and the Cruise Terminal and Palm Beach. The easiest way to get from the terminal to Palm Beach is via taxi or bus. Thank you very much for your info. You're exceptionally generous in sharing your fountain of knowledge of Aruba and the Cruise Critic board is a much better place with people like you. I was searching the Aruba thread for sometime now for the answer to my question and was unsuccessful. Your reply has saved me quite a bit of time; thanks again. The ship's excursion is for 3 hrs only (that includes the catamaran ride to and back). Not enough time for my DH and daughters to do parasailing and spend down time on the lovely Palm Beach. Oh I just realize, DH and daughters should still see Aruba's west coast beaches when they parasail. We'll definitely take the taxi then.
Arubalisa Posted October 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 28, 2008 Thank you for your kind words. :) Yes, a taxi will maximize your time on the beach and time in the air for parasailing. ;) :)
