Billy31 Posted October 25, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 25, 2008 Hello All, We are putting together our scrap book of our wonderful cruise to Bermuda in the Garden Villa on the Dawn and just realized we do not have a picture of Anshuhman. Can anyone help me out? I really want to include his picture in our memories.

mbisson Posted October 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2008 I'd like to throw in my thanks as well. Anshuman made our cruise even more memorable that it would have been otherwise. And I also didn't get a photo of him. Thanks!
nlvc12 Posted October 25, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2008 what exactly does he do to merit such high praise? Does he only work for those in Garden Villas, etc? Nancy
EileenN Posted October 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2008 Anshuman was our concierge on the Dawn in September. We were able to use his services for reservations, priority tendering, any need we had. We are platinum members but stayed in a BB balcony cabin. On our cruise he as on call for the needs of 140 cabins and on the run constantly but never missed a beat. He ranks up there with the best in a very short time. mitfine Posted October 26, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2008 He is the best. He was our butler a few cruises back and when we arrived at the port for the Dawn, to our delight, Anshuman was the concierge. I never saw anyone perform their duties as he did. He was all over the place--from breakfast in Cagney's to meeting us each evening in the restaurant. He is an asset to NCL. Wish there were more like him. lil buddy Posted October 26, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 26, 2008 Let me add my praise to the wonderful pampering of Anshuman. He was also our butler first and then we had him as consierge on the Dawn in Aug. He is a doll and can't so enough for you and never seems like he is rushed but somehow is in 20 places at once. He is the best.

Baitman19 Posted October 26, 2008 #10 Share Posted October 26, 2008 I'd like to add my praises also. We had the great fortune of having Anshuman as our butler on a 10 day cruise in 2006. He was the best and couldn't do enough for us. We were never able to have him again as our butler but everytime we sailed the Dawn, he would make sure our butler knew our likes and dislikes and would come by and make sure we were having a great time. We were informed that he had been promoted to Concierge and contacted him to congratulate him on his promotion. We had already booked the Gem for December 2008, but I found a great deal for Aug 31 on the Dawn and jumped on it. We had a great cruise with him and Carmen on the Dawn and really got to see him in action. It was great watching him do his job His phone never stopped buzzing. He never got flustered and really showed that NCL had made a wise decision. We have had Carlos, Alex, Anca & Claudio as our concierges and Anshuman was all of them wrapped in one. He truly is a special man and a great asset to NCL and a great friend to us. Happy Cruising, Monty

PE I got him to talk a bit about his family. He is anxious for his next opportunity to get home and visit with his son. Misses him a lot while at sea! If you can count Anshuman among your friends, that speaks well for you to Edge!!! Although I can hardly say I know him, I certainly like the little I did see :D

Markandrews Posted October 26, 2008 #15 Share Posted October 26, 2008 I must add to the praise of Anshuman. Last November, (2007) was a transitional time when we were on board the Dawn. Anca was hurt and Carlos was there to fill in for her. At the time Anshuman was supposed to take over as concierge but there was some sort of hold up. Anshuman was our butler for that cruise and I must say I thought he was just ok. We had Kadek on our previous cruise and so Anshuman had big shoes to fill, (in our eyes) and I didn't think he did real well. In September of this year we cancelled our 19 day Pearl cruise because she had pod problems and rebooked for a short run to Bermuda. I of coursed check CC immediately to see who was current concierge. I was somewhat hesitant to see it was Anshuman. September 28th arrived and we showed up to board the Dawn. From the minute we entered the terminal and up until he helped pack our luggage into the NCL provided limo on day 7, Anshuman was ALWAYS there. Of course he did the things we expect NCL’s best concierge to do but he also did the unexpected. If I didn’t know better I would say that Anshuman had spent the entire year between my Dawn cruises with Ruth or Alex or both. I am so very proud of what he has accomplished in the last year. He is a class act. I am not an emotional person but I must admit that as Anshuman was escorting us off the ship I shed a few tears. While I was going miss the great service he has provided I was going to miss our daily chats much more. In a time when NCL seems to be losing some good people it is great to see other world class providers following in their footsteps.
snorklinbarb Posted October 27, 2008 #16 Share Posted October 27, 2008 Let me chime in on Anshuman's praises. Before going on Dawn Oct. 19th I had also read favorable comments about Anshuman here and was looking forward to meeting him. Not only did he check on all his guests constantly and with sincere care, but he helped us personally "rescue" 8 Bermuda rum cakes. We had purchased them as business gifts for the holidays and the lady over at the rum cake factory promised they would be sent directly to the ship as it was a large heavy pkg. A day passed and we heard nothing. Put Anshuman and the case and he even said he would go over there himself if needed. Fortunatelythat wasn't necessary and the cakes magically appeared in our cabin!:D For those lucky enough to have his services included, he'll be on the Dawn for several more months.
familyof4cruising Posted October 27, 2008 #17 Share Posted October 27, 2008 He was our butler on the one night when we were in the Garden Villa. When I boarded the Dawn this August I couldnt remember where I had seen him before. He was a wonderful concierge. He assisted my family with everything that week. Always courteous! lastingtouch Posted October 29, 2008 #18 Share Posted October 29, 2008 On our last cruise, I had the pleasure of seeing his family pictures on his laptop. During our cruise, he was asked to stay on until Jan. His son was looking forward to seeing him in a couple of months. He didn't have the heart to tell him about staying on a little longer. Because he is new at the postion he felt it wouldn't be a good career move to tell NCL no. He is very professional yet down-to-earth. I'd rank he up there with Claudio. Going from Butler to Consierge is an easy fit for him.
