Miami hotel for 5 people - one room

I'll be part of a group of 5 women staying in Miami for one night pre-cruise in February. We'd like to stay in one room which has narrowed our options quite a bit.

 

Which of these two locations would you recommend:

 

Homewood Suites — Airport West

3590 NW 74th Avenue

(new hotel)

 

Homewood Suites — Airport/Blue Lagoon

5500 Blue Lagoon Drive

 

Or is there another hotel you would recommend?

 

We won't have a car, so we're looking for a safe area with a few restaurant options within walking distance.

About 5 years ago, I stayed at the Summerfield Suites in the Blue Lagoon area. Mostly a business park, but I do remember there being at least 1 restaurant within the same block. It was very nice, safe area, with free transportation from the airport - the van driver was an absolute doll! Probably not the same guy, but I'm thinking this guy could probably have been charmed into taking us to a nearby restaurant...:D

Have never stayed at either Homewood Suites but I've always had good experiences with them in other cities.

i just booked the embassy suites at the mia airport for a precruise night. 2 room suite (traveling w/ 3 kids), breakfast and transportation to/from the airport. $129

 

not sure about what's to do around there, we'll arrive late and basically just sleep there.
