nashwl Posted November 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2008 I booked with a TA and my cruise has gone down almost 140 pp. My TA says she can get me a refund of the 140 pp, but I would have to change cabins. It would still the same cabin, interior, but I would move down a couple of decks. Is a couple of decks worth $140 pp. Thoughts?
momofzeke Posted November 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Absolutely, take the refund and move down! Who cares which deck you are on? I've never understood why being higher up on the ship is considered an "upgrade". I have been on Riviera deck (lowest passenger deck) and on Main (one up from Riviera) and loved all 3 cabins. Some folks love being up higher so that they are closer to Lido deck, but it's just a quick elevator ride from the lower decks, so not a big deal. I would take the $140 pp and move down a couple of decks. Enjoy! :D

Take the money and use the couple of flights of stairs to walk off all the food!
RizzoLee Posted November 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Most certainly take the money! I've been from the Main deck up to the Verandah deck - as long as you're not at the front of the ship (heard the anchor WAY too many mornings on the Main deck), it really makes no difference. I've never understood why being higher up on the ship is considered an "upgrade". I always get a cabin on the Empress deck. I consider it an upgrade because of the location. 100 feet or so from the main bar, one deck up to dining, two decks up to the casino. I never wait for an elevator. A quick trip to the cabin for a bottle of wine and then on to dinner. After 9 cruises, all on the Empress deck, I think I'll stick with it. Two of my 3 cruises have been on Spirit class, and I was on Riviera deck. One or 2 decks up to dining room, showroom, bars, shops, casino, atrium lounge. Love Spirit class! :D
