Tendering and Accessibity in Ports

Can someone tell me if these ports are tender ports...

 

Grand Turk Island

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas

Freeport, Grand Bahamas Island

 

 

Also would one have trouble getting around these Islands in a wheelchair?

ex. Do they have beach wheelchairs?

ex. Are the stores and restaurants accessible to a wheelchair?

ex. Excursions that are accessible?

 

I am booked on Carnivals Glory for next May, but just found out that the Pride will be in Baltimore then. I'm only like an hour from Baltimore so that would save me a nice chunk of change in air fare to Florida.

However it is a completely different itinerary, and I just dont know what to do. I use a manual wheelchair and have 0 use of my legs.

Hi Rose,

I was going to ask the same question. I am booked on the Pride in Sept. but might look to change it to one in Aug. that stops at those same ports that you mentioned. I use a mobility scooter and can walk a bit.

Half Moon Cay is a tender port. Freeport and Grand Turk are docked.

Yes, Half Moon Cay is a tender port, but the staff was very helpful in getting my husband off the ship and onto the tender. There was a ramp off the tender once we got to the island.

I have been asking about using a scooter on Grand Turk. No answers. In looking at the webcams and pictures it looks like it can be done. We go in Feb. so I'll let you know. St. Thomas if you doc at Havensite would be easy near the ship. St. Martin also has a small area near the ship that would be easy.
