Silversea's Going to Canada Fall 2009

Recommended Posts

Though Crystal is the major luxury player in Canada/New England with a full season of itineraries next fall, Silversea is adding a few Canada/New England cruises to its roster as well. The line has just announced that it will reposition its Silver Cloud from Europe to the Caribbean by way of Canada/New England, replacing a London-to-Barbados repositioning voyage and three Caribbean cruises with four new itineraries spanning from London, Reykjavik and Montreal to New York and Bermuda.

Here are some more details on the newly added voyages:

September 19 - 27, London to Reykjavik, 8 days, calling in Rosyth, Invergordon, Kirkwall, Lerwick and Thorshavn. Ship overnights in London.

September 27 - October 9, Reykjavik to Montreal, 12 days, calling in Narsarssuak, L'Anse aux Meadows, St. John's, St. Pierre and Miquelon, Corner Brook and Quebec City. Ship sails the St. Lawrence and Saguenay rivers.

October 9 - 19, Montreal to New York, 10 days, calling in Quebec City, Gaspe, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Boston and Newport. Ship overnights in Montreal, navigates the St. Lawrence River and sails through the Cape Cod Canal.

October 19 - 29, New York to Barbados, 10 days, visiting Bermuda, San Juan, St. Bart's, Antigua and Bequia. Ship overnights in Hamilton, Bermuda.

This is the first time in three years Silversea will sail Canada/New England cruises, and Silver Cloud last visited the region in 1999. The line cites success with early 2008 north Atlantic sailings onboard Prince Albert II as the reason for return.
