mickym Posted November 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Any of you that have been cavetubing how cold is the river in Jan? We are booked with cavetubing.com for the end of Jan. Does it help to wear shorts, t-shirts, etc?
nursemindy Posted November 10, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 10, 2008 I cant tell you anything specific about Jan but in Nov it was freaking cold... To me a native Floridian too cold. Those in our group that were not from Florida seemed to tolerate it better than me. It was an awesome tour. We booked our tour with Major Tom and his team. On the hour drive into the jungle we saw parts of town that were just amazing to see. The tour guides, George, Junior one and two, Samuel, Mike were awesome, there knowledge of there city was a welcomed addition to the tour. We learned about about the history of the city. A highlight of the tour. Take a wet suit if you have it and remember the bug spray you will need it....
HRHMadonna Posted November 10, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2008 We went cavetubing in mid-January 2 years ago.....I had worried about the water being cold, but actually I found the water to be quite refreshing especially after the hike through the rain forest. I'm from KY...so perhaps I 'm used to cooler water in pools and colder temps.
