Glory 11/8 to 11/15- Diverted to Costa Maya 11/10/08 - Brief Review

I'm on the ship's computer so will make this brief. We were diverted to Costa Maya, Cozumel, and our last stop will be Nassau overnight. We've been to Costa Maya 3 times before the storm that wiped it out. Costa Maya at the port was beautifully restored/reconstructed! It has the swim up pool, it's now at step down intervals instead of one depth. Plenty of great shopping. Drinks are a little higher in price than before but what the heck, you're on vacation and the service is good!

 

We took a van to downtown, Mahuhaul (sp?) $3 pp, 2pp return trip. It's being restored, approx 85% complete, still looking a little rough. Ate lunch at El Faro bar, excellent service from Juan along the beach with a beatiful view of the water and ship. Lunch for 2 with 6 or 7 Sols = 40.00 + tip. Well worth it. :D Massages were running anywhere from $25 for 40 mins to $10 for 20 mins.

 

I think the pax were happy with this stop, we were in from 10:00 to 5:30 and had a great day in port. They told us we were the third ship into port since they reopened and they were happy to have us as a surprise visitor due to the storm! Loved this stop and wanted to report back to the folks at CC to let anyone know first hand how it's going there. Have lots of pix but not able to load them till we return.

 

Our fellow pax are a fun crowd, lots of Southern charm. :) Can't answer questions, heading to dinner.

Thank you so much for updating us!! My brother is on his honeymoon on the same ship right now. I have been waiting in suspense to hear any news about the changed itinerary.
