Is Bridge wheelchair accessible?

We are going on the Caribbean Princess tomorrow, Nov. 6th, and our friend is in a wheel chair but very good at getting around in it. Do you think (if we are lucky enough to be invited) he would be able to do the bridge tour?

I have my letter ready to the captain asking for a tour of the bridge but if Jimmy cannot come with us to tour the bridge, I will not bother to send the letter.

I do not know about the Caribbean but when we toured the bridge on the Coral, it was at the end of the hallway, I think either Aloha or Baja deck cannot remember and you go through doors to get to bridge so know extra stairs . Hopefully the doors are wide enough for the wheelchair. Maybe when you present your letter ask them. Hope this helps.

Don't know about the Caribbean princess...but we got to tour the bridge of the Grand and the hallway and stairs to the bridge were pretty narrow. I think it was more narrow than the doorway to my half bath at home and a wheelchair (standard Quickie or Top End models) don't fit thru the doorway.

Hi Kathy,

Just off of the Golden Princess last month where the Captain invited us to the Bridge. The access to the Bridge is forward on deck 14, Riviera Deck I believe. The hallway is the standard width of Grand Class ships, plenty of room. The door to the Bridge is plenty wide, my guess is 32" with NO steps or bottom rail or even threshold. The floor is flat and the space on the Bridge is wide and spacious. Not problem for wheelchair accesses. Have Fun!

Thanks!

That really helps because Jimmy's wheel chair does have Quickie on it.

I think I will check the bridge out before I turn in my letter to request the tour.

I would hate for him to stay back while we tour the bridge.

I will send in my review when I return.

Can he walk at all ... perhaps with help?

If there are not too many steps, and someone could help him, maybe he can do it. I would wait and see exactly how many steps/the conditions that are involved before hesitating to send that letter. I would also not be timid about asking for some help if you need it.

If he wants to see the bridge, a wheelchair shouldn't be allowed to stand in the way of that. There are ways around it.

Blue skies!
