Buying gear in Cozumel

Planing a wk of diving next year in Cozumel. Need basic gear (mask, fins, snorkel). Would it be cheaper to buy in Cozumel or purchase here in the states?

There are several nice dive shops in Cozumel and the prices are about the same as we pay in the US at a dive shop.

 

You will probably save a bunch of money if you shop around and buy your equipment in the US before you go. You might be able to catch a sale at a local dive shop or find what you need on the internet. You can also buy pretty good snorkel gear with a bag at sporting good stores and even Sam's (when it is in season).

 

You should really try on the mask before you buy it to make sure it fits ok.
