nowornever Posted November 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Have you previous Lindblad sailors received a letter from Sven Olaf offering a 25% discount for you + any family & friends for any 2009 cruise before 6/30? Might be a good sign of things to come, except it might also foreshadow rocky roads ahead for some of the small cruise lines. Scary times out there. hrprof Posted November 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Interesting. We have reserved and deposited space on a 30 day B2B in June-July and an Alaska trip in August for the two of us and 2 Grandsons. No letter yet! On a prior occasion, we were given future cruise credits when improved terms were offered after we booked. Will wait to see what happens! We have found Lindblad to be unfailingly fair to its customers.
Booro Posted November 22, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 22, 2008 I wouldn't read too much into the "discounts." We are preparing for our 5th Lindblad excursion and have received those promos via mial (and in their brochures) since prior to our first journey in 2001. In fact, we had free airfare from Miami to Ecuador when we visited the Galapagos in 2002. For the record, they are a class act if one is wanting to visit far flung places with a focus on nature and culture. They are not for you if you want to party with 3000 of your most intimate friends. nowornever Posted November 23, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 23, 2008 about 3000 of your friends? We too have sailed on Lindblad & receive many - so many that we asked them to save a tree & cut back all those promotional offers.........but 25%? That's a first for us.
