We are sailing next week .Should I try and use it (is it void )or, just take my birth certificate and forget it ??? Any info appreciated !! cruisingnewyorkers Posted April 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2004 As soon as you return from your cruise send your passport back to the location that issued it with a note explaining the problem and proof of your gender. If they get it back in 45 days they can issue you a new passport. If you wait over 45 days you have to do an amendment and they will just list the correction on page 24.
