Anyone been on Mariner?????

Recommended Posts

I am looking for some pictures of Mariner of the Seas. Preferrably from webshots. Has anyone on these boards posted Mariner pictures there? If so could you please give me the link.
I have also heard that there are doors between the balconies that can be opened upon request. Is there such a door between 1610 and the Royal Suite. Going with friends who will be in the Royal Suite and want to know if we can mingle between the two balconies. Thanx.

Happy Cruising

Is opening the balconies ALWAYS an option? How about if there are two different levels of rooms? I am looking at getting a Jr suite and then a lower level next door (so there won't be connecting doors), but thought using the balcony to connect would be cool. The "future cruise consultant" on board told me this isn't an option... if you do it for one, you have to do it for all, and it just encourages balcony parties...

I think the decision to open the balcony dividers is subject to the specific ship and sailing. I have cruised on the same ship and found the the rules can change depending on the Captain.

Radio is correct and it also depends on your steward. Some can be a real sour puss and others don't mind unlocking the partition (especially with a $20 in hand).

We had this done when we booked two side by side (but not connecting) staterooms so that our children could go back and forth without all the hall door slamming.

For other pictures, try cruise-addicts web site and go to picture gallery. You can view the latest posted pictures or put them in ABC order and look for Mariner.

I just got off the Mariner yesterday and three of us had balcony rooms in a row. Our steward could not open the balcony connectors due to it being a "safety concern." He said that their tools to open them were taken away. We had two other sets of friends with us that were next door to each other on the other side of the ship and their steward said the same thing.

I was on the Mariner on 3/21 and we had requested to have the balcony partitions removed on our 2 Cat. JS cabins. Our room steward told us that due to an incident that happened the week prior to our sailing-- the Captain had ordered the crew not to open the partitions. Perhaps when Capt. Johnny returns to the Mariner he will allow this... Basically it depends on the ship's management.
