imluvncruzn Posted November 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2008 I researched several tour companies offering similar stingray/snorkeling excursions. The only one that offers the starfish stop is Nativeway and they are booked for our date. My question is: Has anyone ever seen starfish on the coral gardens or reef snorkel that is included with all the other stingray snorkel excursions? Are they very common in Grand Cayman or do you have to go to the "Starfish Gardens/Beach"? My kids are looking more forward to the starfish than they are to the stingrays. Any input is greatly appreciated!
JordanFam Posted November 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 16, 2008 Well, I know this isn't very helpful information, but I thought I would share these pictures. We did a snorkeling/stingray city tour, and while we were on our way to Stingray City the tour guide dove off the side of the boat and came back up with this huge sea star. He passed it around and then dove back down to put it back. I have never seen a sea star that big, it was really neat, so if there is some kind of tour where you can go see them, that would probably be fun! jean-lynd Posted November 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 17, 2008 While we were on our stingray city snorkel trip the guide brought up a very large starfish for everyone to see. I'm sure if you mention your interest in seeing starfish they will make every effort to find one for you to see. I hope this helps! Enjoy!
