kathyemma Posted November 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2008 Can you down grade your room? A friend of mine is in a d1 room and was traveling with a friend - his friend just backed out. He is still going so now he has to pay double the money. Does Royal let you down grade your room? And will they give you back the price difference? cruisePRN Posted November 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2008 Yes and Yes. When there is a price drop you can also get money credited back to the charge card you used. If you booked directly with RCL just call them and they will take care of everything. If you used a TA you need to ask if they will charge you for any changes oe cancelations. linkerbink Posted November 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2008 Yes...we downgraded our upcoming Panama Canal cruise from a Junior Suite to a D1 balcony cabin. Since we have not paid in full, RCI just adjusted the amount we still owed. I'm not sure how they would handle the difference if it is paid in full, whether it would be OBC or a credit to the credit card. Your friend should call RCI or his travel agent if he used one. If the cruise is paid in full, RC credit the credit card used or refunds to TA if one was used and cash was paid with debit or cheque. IMO this is not advisable. In not paid in full, RC adjust the billing to the new amount.
