Cigar Lounge Freedom Class Ships

Does anybody know if pipe smoking is allowed in the Cigar Lounge? I realize it is a Cigar Lounge and by strict defination it would be limited to cigars only, however given the limited options for smoking on board ships these days - I wonder if the aromatic pleasure of pipe smoke is allowed in this particular lounge.

Yes you can smoke a pipe in the cigar lounge. We cigar smokers will probably give you the stink eye though! ;)

Thanks for the reply hockeyboy. I enjoy both cigars and pipes - so I will of course be smoking cigars in the lounge. However I nice pipe is very relaxing and IMHO generally smells nicer.

 

Has anybody ever smoked a pipe in the Cigar Lounge?

Cigars, cigarettes, and pipes have been welcomed in the Cigar Lounges on the RCI ships we've sailed on. On the Freedom-class and Voyager-class ships, this lounge is dedicated and available 24/7.

I've smoked 'gars on the lifeboat deck starboard (outside of course). Technically I don't know if this is allowed, but there aren't that many people outside on this deck, no one has ever said anything.

Hah! I am intimately familar with these lounges. Yes you can smoke pipes in there. A cool point to note is the lounge itself is actually open all the time, the bar isn't manned except in the evening. So, if you want to get away to a quiet, private retreat mid-day, grap a bowl and a book and enjoy!

So is drinking alcohol and eating too much, yet these are the fundamental components of a good cruising experience. :p
