rez4jc Posted December 1, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2008 I am thinking of booking this Waterfall Canopy Tour. It includes 25 ziplines over 11 waterfalls. Let me know, I will be leaving in February.

travelingman Posted December 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2008 I am planning on using them this March on our cruise. I want to go ziplining and my wife wants to lay out around the pool and go horseback riding and their set up would allow both of us to get our wishes. I would like to hear what lothers have to say if they have used them.
brosario Posted January 9, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2009 Zipling at Hotel Vista Golfo is WONDERFUL! Do this over any other tour in Puntarenas, Costa Rica - and do it directly with them, not through your ship or hotel - the prices are better that way and you have much better control of your time. They were very reliable when we visited via cruiseship on Dec 12th, 2008. They will pick you up from your cruiseship and drop you back again. The ride from cruiseship to the Hotel is about 45 minutes each way, and you can get in your ziplinging wih a total of about 4.5 hours including travel(longer if you do additional activities). But you can aslo ask to stay over at the hotel after your activity to enjoy the view (spectatular), eat, drink beers/cocktails or swim in the small hotel pool - just give them half an hour notice to arrange a cab-ride back to the ship when you are ready. You can even walk through the trails on the property. The cab rides to and from the ziplining are included in the very reasonable price. Six of us booked a Zipling tour directly with the management (check website www.finca-daniel.com). Barbara and Dietmar are the German-born husband & wife owners and operate the Hotel with associated tours. We booked directly with them by emailing dietmar@finca-daniel.com. They sent us an "credit-card authorization form" by email. We filled it in and sent it back (scanned) by email to do the booking. Or you could mail it to them. They do not charge your card until you have completed your tour - they were completely trustworthy. The "Finca Daniel Tour" with 11 ziplines is the tamer and shorter of the two tours, but quite exhilirating anyway. The last zipline in this tour is almost half a mile long! Others who took the 25-line tour over waterfalls found it moderately difficult (you should only do that one if you are in good health and it will help if you have ziplined before). Our group of 6, with average age of 60, did the shorter tour and thoroughly enjoyed it! They also have horseback riding and an ATV tour, neither of which we did. The Hotel is situated about 2000 ft up in the hills and the property has a canyon (ziplines across this) with distant views down to the bay - a really great view! Just do it!:)

I noticed that the crew member tour looks like it is the cost of the Canopy tour plus $15. for transportation, so considerably less than the $89. pp their web site shows. Did you pay that much or closer to the lower figure? Thought I would ask before I emailed them directly. We have never ziplined before so would do the shorter tour too.
