Please let us know all about your cruise, I am also sailing on the VOS 9 night in July and want to know if the seas from up here then down to the tropics are rough . And every detail that u would post...........I have never heard of ships not being able to dock in Jamaica, I guess if the weather is extreme that could happen.(maybe it was not because of the weather!)

We were on the Brilliance last year and they skipped Jamaica because of the weather, heavy rain and heavy seas. They also bypassed Grand Cayman as well and proceeded straight to Aruba. Fortunately, since it was a 10 day cruise we were able to stop at Grand Cayman on the way back. No one seemed very disappointed about missing Jamaica.

If you skip Ocho Rios, you haven't missed much! Maybe Montego Bay is better. We didn't do any shore excursions, but rather went shopping. The locals were nice enough, but very very pushy!!! Next time I'd stay on board with a drink by the pool....

I just got off the phone with a friend who works on the NOS. He said they almost didn't go to Ochee today because of the rough seas.

He said the seas are extremely rough today.

One of my recent cruises... can't remember which one... the ship actually left the port for a while until the seas calmed. We thought the ship had left us.
