Is Antarctica only place to do penquin viewing? Any tour companies offer that tour? We are doing southbound cruisetour w/HAL in July, 2009.

no penguins in alaska, other than the occasional stray.

 

though...........about 15 years ago the forest service was out reaching for comments on an environmental impact statement they were processing. some one created a bunch of comment postcards and distributed them to offboarding juneau cruise ship passengers. the fs was flooded with comment cards wondering why the impacts on the mendenhall penguins had not been addressed in the eis.

No, you can also see wild penguins in South Africa.

 

Edinburgh (Scotland) Zoo has a huge number of penguins.

We saw them in Galapagos too.

LOTS of penguins in New Zealand. Mostly on the South Island but we saw some blues on the North Island last year.

I am surprised that there is even strayed Penguin in Alaska. I thought it was so far north from antartica.

Forgot to mention Falkland Islands. Several cruise ships call at Port Stanley.
