rickcop44 Posted December 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2008 My family and I are on Crown Princess in late February. Ever since shore excursions opened up about three weeks ago, the cabanas on Grand Turk have been showing "canceled." This past weekend, I looked again and the "canceled" wasn't showing. I went ahead and reserved a cabana and got a confirmation from Princess. Shortly afterwards, I went back into the cabanas to get more information and the "canceled" was once again showing. Does anyone know the status of the cabanas at Grand Turk? Are they available for reserving, or did Princess do a short term boo boo? I'm still showing as confirmed. Thanks everyone! sessa Posted December 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Yes I would like to know also as the same thing has happened to us. Any info would be appreciated please and thanks in advance.
sessa Posted December 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2008 I phoned about the cabana's today (Dec 12/08) and apparently they aren't available due to being damaged in the hurricane. So you can scratch that off your list.
rickcop44 Posted December 15, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Thanks Sessa. It's probably being picky, but I really would prefer that if an excursion isn't available, that Princess completely remove it (i.e., remove the temptation). That's what Carnival does if one is canceled or scratched for some reason.
seagypsea Posted December 15, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2008 If you all will look at my pictures on the other thread you will see the cabanas are gone. So I guess it depends on when and whether they will be rebuilt as to how soon you can have one on a future cruise. Diann
rickcop44 Posted December 16, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted December 16, 2008 Which thread? I searched and couldn't find them. I got my cruise packet yesterday and it contained a list of shore excursions for each port, including the cabanas at Grand Turk. Confusing, very confusing. Oh well, either they're rebuilt or they aren't. As I learned on my Australian holiday, no worries.
sessa Posted December 16, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 16, 2008 We are on the Grand on January 2nd/09. I phoned directly to the pier and asked if they were up and running as Princess allowed my reservation also and said there was only 3 left. Here is the link if anybody wants to contact the Grand Turk cruise center themselves. http://www.grandturkcc.com/ Nessa

I'm sure the cabanas could be rebuilt quickly. Just 4 walls, a roof and a porch. They definitely were gone on our trip, but could be there now. cruzndiz Posted December 20, 2008 #9 Share Posted December 20, 2008 Too bad about the cabanas....wonder if u can still get a massage anywhere?
AR_Magnolia Posted December 20, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 20, 2008 Before I found out that the cabanas were no more, I reserved one. I just checked a few minutes ago, and it shows "confirmed" beside the order. So maybe they are back? We are leaving January 4 on the Crown Princess. (I would have loved to get a cabana at Princess Cay, but even if they weren't all booked, we just couldn't afford it.) So I wonder if maybe they are backed? I've seen the pictures. . . cat26 Posted February 2, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 2, 2009 We just came back last night and did not see any cabanas there. For 20 bucks you can rent a retractable cover for 2 chairs. I don't think of that as a cabana...If you go to the swimming pool area umbrellas are free!
