What does everyone think? Too cheesy??

We are going on a cruise in March with my dad's family and my sisters family and I thought it would be fun to all wear matching t-shirts the first day of the cruise. This is our 2nd cruise but a first for all of them.

I haven't mentioned it to any of them as I was going to surprise them with the shirts but now I'm second guessing it if would be too dumb.

I was going to put a family slogan on them.

We often see families or other groups wearing matching t-shirts and don't think it's cheesy. A fun way to declare your group identity! If the slogan is really clever, your fellow passengers will remember it and perhaps comment when they see you later in the cruise. We say go for it, and wear 'em with pride!

Go for it - I think it's fun to see groups have fun together!!! Our group of 24 is going to wear sports related apparel from our state one day on an excursion. We all made our shirts a couple years ago and wore all them on an excursion. Have fun - be silly!

IMHO, it depends on whether or not your "family" tends to wear t-shirts when in public.

Lots of people, particularly older (seasoned) people:rolleyes:, tend to be particular about what they wear in public.

Float the idea to them, just don't spring it on them as a "secret" the last minute when it might be difficult to voice their objection. :)

You know your family best. We are traveling with 6 of us and my sister in law you kick me if I pulled out matching Tshirts to wear. Some people really think it is a cool idea some don't. If you think they would like it, go for it. Who cares what anyone else thinks other than your group?

I don't think it's cheezy at all! We did this on out last cruise on the Splendor because there was 12 of us returning from the Freedom cruise. And now there is a measly four of us on the Splendor South American that have sweatshirts for going around the cape. It makes you feel special. Go for it!

A bunch of us (10) met here on CC and then decided that we would dine together on board too. We all got along VERY well and I still talk to all of them a year later! Anyway...we all wore green tshirts the first morning to breakfast and it was a hoot!! Everyone was asking us about the shirts..lol..no one laughed and if they did, we didn't care, we had so much fun! We were always the last table to leave at dinner, the last to leave at breakfast...we had so much fun!

When we were on the Miracle in April, there was a large familt cruising for their dads birthday .

They all had T shirts saying "IT"S AL'S 60th Birthday " with a big picture of Al on it.

One night I actually bumped into Al in the casino with his shirt on. I said "Hey Al Happy Birthday". He smiled and said thanks , but looked at me a minute like who is this guy and how does he know me and my birthday.

He finally looks down a remembers the shirt and starts to laugh . He said he has had the thing on all day he forgot all about it

That and he looked like he had had a few adult beverages in celebration *LOL*

kira, I think it's a great idea...in fact, I was going to do the same thing for our family's cruise which we took over Thanksgiving...BUT, when I ran it by my 17 year-old-nephew and some other members of the family, the consensus was that it was indeed too cheesy...I still disagree with them, but I was in the miniority :( instead, we all dressed in purple and gold in honor of our hometown LSU Tigers

I think it is a teenage thing. my 3 (20,16, and 15 ) would never wear a t shirt like that along with 50 of their relatives. I could just hear them now "that is not cool" :)

I vote cheesy! Then again, I am a man and don't see the joy matching apparel. Good luck with the men and teens in the crowd! :)

There is an elderly couple around our town that everytime you see them they are in matching outfits. Even if its just jeans and a matching sweat shirt.

My wife laughs and says "Awwwww that will be us someday" I just take her hand and smile and say " God willing one of us will be dead before we get to that point" *LOL*
