reggierail Posted April 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2004 There are also a lot of non alcoholic drinks available in the bars. The colada drinks are very good, there's mango, banana and strawberry. BigDave Posted April 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2004 There's a "Friends of Bill W" meeting every day, and when they walk around selling FuFu drinks they usually have the bottle in the other hand so alcohol is optional. tn118 Posted April 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 20, 2004 It took me three cruises to finally find out what "friends of BillW" was. I always thought it must be one big group to have private get togethers everyday. Did I feel stupid when I finally found out.
rance222 Posted April 20, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 20, 2004 As a side note, watch the non-alcoholic drinks. They sometimes mix them in the same blender as the alcoholic drinks (virgin coladas)or just splash some water in them to clean them out. So insist they clean them well. Have a great cruise. dlbaqua Posted April 20, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Jennecks, the AA meetings on board are wonderful, RCI lets AA use a conference room and whoever shows up runs the meetings (ought never be organized ya know. We had about 7-8 at each meeting. We met great new friends and were so grateful to meet them, too! I used to think Bill W. was a very popular, rich man who went on lots of cruises. We actually had a japanese lady come to one of the meetings because she wanted to "meet Bill W." it was so funny. We even saw an AA group in Costa Maya, didn't have time to stop by, but it was so cool to see.
madforcruising Posted April 20, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 20, 2004 I took me several cruises to figure out what´s the deal with the Friends of Bill W. is. I´m glad I found out without stumbling in there and making myself a fool. I only can say congratulations to all of you that recovered. I think it´s great from the cruise lines to care about. Enjoy your cruises and have fun. Moondawgie Posted April 20, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 20, 2004 hsm, Bill W was the founder of AA. jennecks, one other thing, during the free cocktail parties, they have non-alcoholic drinks on the tray. They are usually red and the waiter will know which ones they are. I always drink those as I don't like to drink alcohol too much. "Friends of Bill W" meetings are listed in the daily activities sheet. Good luck and have fun!
