jfjudge Posted December 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2008 We are going on a cruise on RCCL - Rhapsody on May 8, 2009 out of Vancouver and back to Seattle. I need to rent a power chair for my husband in Vancouver, can anyone help? Thanks.
Putterdude Posted December 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2008 Here are links to several stores who do some renting and if they don't have what you want they may know who does. I would also contact the cruise line as they can often help. As I read your post, I think your problem is going to be the fact that you are not returning to Vancouver. http://www.daviesrx.com/contactus/index.html http://www.selfcarehome.com/default.aspx
uppitycats Posted December 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 12, 2008 CareVacations is a Canadian-based firm. I know they'll rent on cruise ships, whether or not you're returning to the port you started from. You might look them up on the net and call them for more information, too. Peery5 Posted December 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2008 We are going on a cruise on RCCL - Rhapsody on May 8, 2009 out of Vancouver and back to Seattle. I need to rent a power chair for my husband in Vancouver, can anyone help? Thanks. We are taking RCCL [also taking Rhapsody] R/T out of Seattle on June 5. As I have muscular dystrophy and use an electric scooter, I found a company in Seattle that will have a rental scooter in my stateroom when we embark and pick it up from my stateroom when we arrive back in Seattle. As we live on the east coast, the rental is cheaper and far less troublesome than taking mine with us. Don't know about Vancouver but it wouldn't hurt to call. If they can't help they might refer to another company. Thank God for this company as my wife and two daughters' would not enjoy the cruise knowing I couldn't keep up with them. The company's name is Care Vacations [carevacations.com] and the phone number is 877-478-7827. they rent just about any mobility aide you could need. Good Luck
jfjudge Posted December 31, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks to all of you, we did find a company in Vancouver that will deliver a power to the ship for us in Vancouver and then retrieve it in Seattle when we disembark.
