French side/shopping

Here's my dilema: We are in port on Sunday. I would like to go to the French side beach's for the day. I ALWAYS lose (forget...) things and will want to pick them up at our first port of call (St Martin).

I am me, and this will not change, therefore I will stress until I have replaced the 'lost' items. So, my question is this-

Are all the shops, especially the pharmacies, closed on Sunday's? If so, I will head back to the Dutch side earlier than planned. If they are open, then I can relax and not have to think of making sure there is enough time, just pick them up on our way back. I will then have stress-free duty free shopping time in Philipsburg!

BTW- by Monday I will be in holiday mode and not so high strung!:D
