D1 and D2 Balcony on the Navigator.

I believe the difference is location. There *may* also be a small difference in size.

D1's are either on Deck 10, or are on a lower deck and have an added feature - sofa bed, pullman, connecting - making them more desirable (in RCI's opinion).

D2's are deck nine or lower.

If you're looking at deck nine or lower and don't have a need for third berth/connecting there's no reason to get a D1.
