mystic51 Posted November 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 9, 2004 We will be cruising on the Zuiderdam in May '05... We love to dance and have found that most cruises have very limited availability and very little time allowed for ballroom dancing.. fox trot, swing, waltz, chacha, tango..etc. Are there any lounges you would recommend. Is there dancing nightly... thank you for any info you are able to share...

grandma bev Posted November 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 10, 2004 Even on big band cruises, or jazz cruises on the Maasdam and Zaandam, we have never found a large dance floor. These are ships, after all. Once we sailed with the Count Basie Orchestra for a whole week, and were so frustrated at the small dance floors! So we try to concentrate on listening rather than dancing. The previous Rotterdam had a fairly large dance floor. The old S.S. Norway had places to dance - if I remember correctly, we danced on the enclosed Promenade, and on the aft deck when they scheduled the big band there. Too hot in the Caribbean! Just don't expect too much, and check out the ship's orchestra early so you'll know whether to rush to the one-hour dancing session! Happy cruising.
