Progreso was great, and the best money spent during my whole cruise

We passed on Carnival's ridiculously over-priced excursions and once in Progreso we found a 3 hour tour that only cost 35 dollars for all four of us. We first went to see some flamingos in the nesting spot, then to some salt flats. Next was a Mayan ruin tour and then finally an hour at a beach resort.

Who did you use for the tour? What was the transportation like (van, cab, bus, etc)? I'd like the same kind of tour. We're going in February with two small kids and I'm concerned about the vehicle.

It was a van with a/c and I don't remember the name but they are located in the market in town and they have a big poster board showing their different plans, they were very nice.

We are trying to find something fun to do in Progresso. I would like some beach time.
