Internet Access on Grandeur

Hi everyone,

 

We'll be travelling on GOS on December 26th for a 10 night cruise. My DD is considering to bring her laptop. Does anyone know if she could get internet connection in her room, how much it would be for 10 nights and whether the connection would be good?

 

Any assistance on this matter is really appreciated :)

The Grandeur does not belong to the ships that offer in room Internet. So if she brings her laptop she has to go to one of the public hotspots. Now if your cabin happens to be very close to one of those hotspots she might be able to pic up a signal in the room, but you need to know that the steel structure of the ship reduces the signal and the less the signal the slower the connection.

 

Price for the Internet will be $.55 /minute and there are packages to buy once onboard to reduce the per minute fee.

 

The Internet is slow onboard, but the WiFi is actually the fastest option of all and if you don´t want to surf the web extensively but mainly use it for emails it´s the best to bring the notebook for this as you can download emails and read and reply to them offline. Saves a lot internet minutes.
