bgsimp Posted December 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2008 We were on the Granduer Of The Seas a couple of years ago. They had the party in the show lounge. They had a band on stage & we danced on stage or down in front of the stage. They poured champagne from 11:00 pm. til almost 12:30 am. Don't know if they still do it. It was fun.:)
cruzobsessed Posted December 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2008 we will be on the indy this new years eve and it will be our 3rd new years eve cruise. in my opinion...there is no other way to spend new years eve:) it has that new york times square feeling withpout being outside and the media and millions of people. around 11:30 everyone heads to the centrum area where champagne is handed out. at dinner, noise makers and hats are on the table. there is a countdown and when it's midnight......hundreds of balloons and streamers fall from netting that is on the ceiling..then after that.....there are parties going on all over the ship. the only downside is that a lot of cruisers take advantage of the not driving thing and drink waaaaaaaay more than they should:eek: use your imagination. Rancher Dave Posted December 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2008 NYE on the ship really is a fun time. This is our second year and will likely be a tradition for at least the next several years. Freeflowing champ/balloons falling, lots of party locations...festive attitude! Go enjoy your NYE at sea... dennbr9 Posted December 19, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 19, 2008 Have done three NYE Cruises and really are a good way to celebrate New Years. Good food, good drinks, parties going on all over the ship with varied music types, and they won't let you drive the ship!

Rare robbinsca Posted December 19, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 19, 2008 The ship becomes one big giant party, with the whole centrum going wild at Midnight. We were on Jewel last year and it was a lot of fun.....and as said before while you have to watch for a few drunk people weaving about they don't have a car wrapped around them this time. It worked our well for us, we had our Son and his wife aboard and she had a few samplings of the champagne that evening............now we are grandparents! Expensive, but hey- it worked!
