jamiddl Posted December 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Hi, this is out first cruise and I have been scouring the ports of call pages looking for fun stuff for us to do, but I didn't know how soon I should start trying to make contact with some of the tour operators? It seems like a long time off (next Aug.), but I don't want to get left in the dust either. Thanks for any advice!! Justine
cascole Posted December 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2008 I just booked one for April & felt like I was early... for August, you have some time. A lot can change with tours & operators in 8-9 months!
Oompaland Posted December 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2008 For Jamaica, we use Peat Taylor. We have reserved tours a year out and then confirm a few weeks before. Never had a problem.
onceagain Posted December 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2008 We will be on our cruise Jan. 18. We contacted the tour guide about 10 months ago, he put us on his list, my DD just talked with him a few days ago and he is ready for us. So, I'm not sure it's ever too early. Especially if there is something you really want to do.
valancy1 Posted December 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2008 Conversely, if you chose to wait until the week before your cruise, I guarantee there'll be room--at least that's been our experience. You can even get off the ship and contract with someone right at the pier if you wanted to do that. Whichever way you go, hope you have a BLAST. (We know you will! :D)
