Tampa Port - Day of Disembark

Need some help; when we disembark on 1/3 we are planning to go to Busch Gardens for the day, prior to flying out the next day. How do we get from the port to Busch Gardens - taxi, bus or rental car?

If via taxi, about what will that cost; if via rental car, where is the closest rental location

I would not recommend the bus service. While it is possible, it would probably take quite a bit of time; public transit in Tampa is not stellar.

 

Cab fare from the port to BG would be around $20 (it is about 7 miles, cab rate is $2 + $2.25 per mile). You didn't say where you are staying that night; cab fare back to the port would be the same $20. To a hotel in the immediate airport vicinity would be a couple of miles further so would be $4 to $6 more.

 

Unless you're planning to do much in the way of travel, I'd probably just do it via cab. You'll save a lot of time over what it would take to pick up & drop off a rental car.
