QuincyABC Posted December 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2008 We have typically used taxis as tour guides on just about all of the Caribbean islands. This is our first visit to Costa Rica. We are 2 couples that usually go together. Typically we find taxi drivers on the docks working to solicit cruisers for tours. This has worked great for us on all the islands except BonAire. Are there sufficient taxis in Limon to choose from? We prefer this option rather than booking thru the cruise line. Any advice? Thanks...
TCF Posted December 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 28, 2008 We like to do our shore excursions the same way. In Limon we used Oscar Brown...and got a great excursion from himat about half the price for exactly the same excursion from the ship. I did notice that there are a number of tour vans on the pier waiting for pax that hav e not made ship excursion reservations or advance private ones. They use vans with A/C whioc makes for a great tour...I'd try one of them rather than a taxi. Good luck with it...it is a great port stop!
