Can you get an upgrade if you have chosen a particular cabin?

Or do upgrades just apply to Guarantees?

It's our first Princess cruise and we can but hope.

i have received several upgrades & I always have a particular cabin booked. Just make sure that your TA has your booking marked as "ok to upgrade"

I have heard of first timers getting upgrades so keep thinking positive thoughts!

It doesn't matter. You can be upgraded at any time. Only the upgrade fairy knows who will be selected. Hopefully, you booked a cabin you will be happy with even if you don't get the upgrade. Eenie, meenie, miney moe. That's about how they select who will get the upgrades.

and remember a true upgrade is "inside to outside", "outside to balcony", "balcony to mini-suite" and "mini-suite to suite".
