AshP Posted December 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2008 We will soon be traveling to St. Lucia via the NCL Jewel and I am trying to decide which beach would be best for us. We are looking for a beach that has beautiful water (of course!), somewhere to rent chairs and umbrellas and not too noisy. We don't really care to watch or listen to jet skiis. Also need restroom facilities and food/adult beverages :D I have narrowed it down to Reduit Beach or Choc Beach or pigeon Point Beach. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Lard Greystoke Posted January 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2009 I can only tell about Choc Beach (pronounced "shock") which I visited for a brief time. About a quarter-mile long, lots of fluffy sand, palm trees. Waves pretty quiet. Pretty. There is a bar-restaurant at the south end (which is where you get in, no admission price) which sells adult libations and some food. Sorry, I did not look for chairs. The bar is the only business I saw. I was there on a Sunday and there were a few dozen locals, including a couple of kids riding horses into the surf. When I stumbled on a heap of sand they said "don't fall"; I did anyway. Some of the lads were playing rasta music on a boom box. I imagine that on a weekday it would be fairly deserted. Note: I have seen pictures of "Choc Bay" on the Web showing pictures I do not recognize. I'm wondering if there are two beaches in the area. The pictures show a big resort and lots of water-sports, no sign of which I saw early last year. They would have had to move a major road to put the hotel in, and there was not the first shovelful of construction when I was there. So there may be 2 "Choc Beaches" now. You might check. Anyway, the one I went to was quiet, uncrowded, with not a lot to do. I did not see any jet skis or watercraft. As for chairs/umbrellas, I simply did not notice and do not remember.
