Saw this on another board(hopefully it's not too tacky) How much did you pay for your cruise?

I don't have a travel agent, but had only been monitoring travelocity, expedia and some of the on-line cruise booking sites that are often mentioned on cruisecritics. The price dropped $300 for two. I saw it first on expedia and travelocity, a day or so later on the various other on-line booking sites, and finally at RCCL's site (about a week later). I had a courtesy hold through travelocity because they told me only two rooms were left at that rate (maybe not true). I did land up staying with travelocity because they seemed to follow through effectively and the best rates on the on-line cruise sites were only $20-27 less total. Not worth booking with a site I am not sure of. We did get a "rock bottom" price I am happy with, but I wonder whether price drops show up sooner on the larger travel sites.

DUBIDUB2 - I am on the Mariner the same week and my insdie was $750pp (all taxes, etc included). I checked the pricing online and don't see any change from when I booked. Do you think you got a discount because you also booked the owner's suite???

Last year we saved $400 a person ($1600 total for 2 cabins) by driving to New Orleans and taking the Grandeur instead of taking the ship based in Galveston. The 5-6 hour drive is worth the price difference. The itineraries were the same.

We cashed in 240,000 amex points for our cruise in Jan. on Adventure for a category D for 2 people. We used continental miles for our airfare to San Juan. Then..we upgraded at the pier for $800.00 to an owners suite! So, all in all $800.00 was a deal! Now, gotta start earning more miles and points...

Now I am beginning to wonder if I got a good deal, I booked with CruCon on Legend for 11 nights on 11/21/04. I paid 2966 for 2 people for everything and that includes airfare. I booked an oceanview room, category I. Oh, forgot to mention I get 150 off 2966 from the A&c coupon. Also forgot to mention that is a Hawaii cruise. JBrewster: gkrebs:aqusis:- According to the latest news at the TA the VOS is going in for refurbishment May 4-14 with a TA cruise from 14-16. They must me making some fairly significant changes beyond new linen if the RCI website shows deck plans effective through April 25th and then there is a link for new deck plans as of May16th ( ?). Five years is a long time with 4000 people per day walking the halls and public places. You can go through a good bit of wear and tear in that amount of time. I doubt there will be much structural change as its only a 10 day refurbishment.

i am in pvd customer service. 8 years now. i did not book with interline as i really had my heart set on jewel 8 day. good thing i did because it is sold out for dec 4. i think the price for quad $2576 was good for e1 balcony.
besides that i will be flying back on greens so i can be a "passenger" instead of an employee!!! lol.
if i understand correct, your dh is a mechanic?if he is give him a big thanks, as i think they are the hardest working group with the amount of responsiblility they have. i have visited many mechanic bases with corp culture and they are all a great bunch!. no i don;t drink the "punch" just an ordinary employee who enjoys what others do.

Taking my wife on Rhapsody of the Seas 12/5 for her Birthday.

In march, we reserved a Grand Suite for $1110 @ for passengers 1 & 2, $199 each for passengers 3,4,5. Total price is just over $3,000 including insurance.

We went with the GS so that we could bring my mother along to watch our two small (6 months and 2.5 years at cruise time) children. Also, we really wanted to have a bathtub for the kids! And yes, we still think it is a vacation taking our kids! wouldnt leave home without them at this age!

Policies will only cover pre-existing if you purchase the insurance within 14 days of your deposit. I have not found any policies that cover pre-existing after that date.

We just booked a last minute cruise on the Sovereign. Last week, when I booked, the rate was $249pp inside GTY, $309pp outside GTY. This morning, the rate had gone down to $219 and $279. I just called and got the rate reduction from RCCL. My total for 4 night (outside GTY) cruise including port and taxes is $615.10

My dh is the "Manager of Training and Employee Resourses" (took me almost a year to remember the job name). He had "the door closing job" OPS before he went into training. Even though he isn't a mechanic I will hug him anyway. We purchased tickets on Continental last year to get to our NOS cruise ($699 inside last week of July on Cruisequick, it was the best we could find). What a difference to fly on revenue tickets. We didn't board last and even wore "open toed" shoes!!! We leave next week for a repositioning cruise. There have been some great deals out of LA to YVR, as little as $30 a day.

June 13th Mariner - about $1475pp for cabin 8516 (balcony) and $900pp for cabin 8517 (inside). Not the best deal, but going in the summertime there didn't seem to be any great deals.

The best I ever did was Grand Princess in January - $500 for an inside cabin.

hey hey,
the fall is beautiful. not too humid or hot and great weather usually. ask dh to look at swa today and there is a special for 2 inn's in newport that are great. very convient to all the sights in newport. you can even take a ferry into providence and see stuff there too.
i would rent a car so you can drive around. boston is about 1 1/2 hrs away and maine just up the road from there. besides the trees in all the color is great. if you come i won't make you board last!!lololol. we are "real friendly" up here in the north land..
