springtxbill Posted November 12, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2004 Just found out I won a free cruise voucher worth $2000 in a Houston Chronicle sweepstakes supposedly to the Caribbean valid for one year. It possibly can be changed to any other destination but have not seen the voucher yet. Now the big problem is when to go. With 33 days of cruises already scheduled thru next June I will be strapped to get the time off to go, but will make it somehow. Any suggestions? maybe a 4 day in the Owner's suite or something close to it?

hstrybuf Posted November 12, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 12, 2004 Congratulations! A short cruise sounds like a good idea. Go for the suite! :D
mammallama Posted November 12, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2004 Could you possibly cancel one of your current cruises and use the voucher to rebook the same cruie? What a dilemma! NOT! :D Congrats!!

We won a cruise too...so don't be surprised to find the taxes and port charges add up to about 320 bux on a 7 day cruise from Galveston...still worth it but a surprise :) Rhondi (one week and 2 days to go wooohoo!!!) moopig Posted November 12, 2004 #13 Share Posted November 12, 2004 Congrats! You might want to check to see when you can use it. I won a trip to Couples Resort in Jamaica last year and it was extremely difficult to get a reservation (had so many restrictions) but we finally made it there and was wonderful! Have fun! Sophie Posted November 13, 2004 #14 Share Posted November 13, 2004 Congratulations! When did you sign up for the contest? We get the Chronicle every day and I don't remember any contest for a cruise. Was it in the Sunday travel section? Anyway, have fun deciding what cruise to take!
springtxbill Posted November 13, 2004 Author #15 Share Posted November 13, 2004 This is actually a rea cruise, not one of the sales deals. I talked to the lady at the TA it is through and it covers up to $2000 including port charges and taxes. :) The sweepstakes was in the Chronicle's Score contest that is basically on-line.
