taxi $ from Ft. lauderdale aiport to beach hotel

Anyone have an approximate price for two people to take a taxi from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to a hotel on the beach in Ft. Lauderdale-By the-Sea (a mile or so north of downtown Ft. Lauderdale)? Would it be about the same price to return to the cruise pier?

Id say between 12 and 15 bucks probably and the same about for the port. Watch the Lauderdale taxi drivers they try to rip you off and take u the long way if you dont know the area. They did this once last month in Sept and we didnt say anything then they tried to do it 2 more times all w/in 4 days and different cabbies

probably not trying to rip you off, just simply they were morons. I've had good cab drivers and OK cab drivers, any cab ride you can walk away from is an OK cab ride.

 

I estimate at least 19 dollars from the port to Lauderdale by the Sea.
