Atlantis Aquaventure through Carnival

They have lowered their price to $120pp, I think it was $150 last year. My question is, it shows a food symbol next to it that means it comes with food. Has anyone booked this through Carnival before? What kind of food do you get? Its pretty vague in the description. Thanks!

My wife and I just got back from doing that and I would say save your money. Ours was 125 dollars without lunch, but you only get about 3 hours there and it's not nearly enough time to enjoy everything. We loved every minute we were there, but wished we had more time. We felt we did not get your money's worth.

Which one did you book? This one says 5 hours and includes lunch. Also you arrive at 9:15am and the shuttles start at 1pm and end at 5pm. So technically it looks like you could stay until 5pm which would be 8 hours. Here is the description:

For our cruise the only one that was offered was the one without lunch. It takes a while to get from the pier to one of the shuttle buses that takes you over there. It took us about an hour just to get there. Then we had an awful awful quick tour which wasted some more of our time. There was another couple besides us that finally left that group because it wasn't worth the time. Just give us a map and let us go explore. You are right, you can stay until 5 o'clock to get the last bus as you need to be back on the ship by 5:30. We took the 4 o'clock shuttle because we had early dinner and needed some time to freshen up and get ready. It's a beautiful and tremendous place, we just wish we could have had more time.

I will have to COMPLETELY agree. While I don't mean to bash Atlantis but for $150 or $120 or $100 or even $80 per person for 3 to 5 hours was not worth it for us. We just returned also. We had never been to Atlantis so I think the excitement of never seeing it and having fun in the pools and slides with a 6yr old kinda overshadowed what others had suggested. That is it's not worth it. Sorry but just my opinion.

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah I know its expensive and it will be a bit rushed, but I think its worth it to check it out once. Plus I figure its $109 a the gate plus lunch and a taxi is easily $120 a person either way.

I agree with you there Hoogs, and the family wants to check it out even if it is just for a few hours.

Our itinerary has us in the Bahamas from 8-2p. You guys sound like it is a little longer. We are sailing on the Glory in April, perhaps that is why ?

You will love it there! We really enjoyed the tubing on the lazy river and through the rapids...that was a blast and the pool water is so nice and warm!!!

Hoogs,

When are you sailing? We are on the Carnival Glory in late March and the Aquaventure price listed is $159 per person. $120 sounds a lot better and hopefully lunch is included. The description is the same.

Feb 9th on Destiny. But it WAS $159 for a long time, about 30 days before the cruise it changed to $121 a person. So keep an eye on it!

No where does it say lunch is included. You better go back and read it more carefully....clever marketing;)

Have lunch at one of the several outdoor or indoor eateries and spend the rest of the day as you like.

Have lunch....not lunch is INCLUDED.

It even says in the note at the bottom:

Be advised that many of the outdoor restaurants and snack carts are “cashless” and only accept credit cards. Cash is accepted at other venues, including all indoor restaurants, bars and shops. Gift cards can be purchased with cash for use in “cashless” areas.

Which is why I asked in the first place, but there IS a food symbol which means food is provided. So if they don't provide me lunch or some kind of snack I will be complaining for sure.

You realize that the waterpark doesn't open until 10am, right? and you have to leave the park by 1pm to get back to the ship.

You can book a room at the Comfort Suites, if there are only two of you this may not be worth it, but if you are more, then look into the prices. This allows you access to Atlantis and a towel, you can check in and out at the same time so you dont have to go back and its just a short walk next door. My friend got a deal last spring, she got the room for 150 at last minute, I paid 225, then add the 40 resort fees to that, for a family of 4 thats a bargain. We love it there and would go again.

Unless it is a holiday when the resort is likely busier you can buy a day pass at Atlantis for $105 per person--obviously have to also consider cab fare but shouldn't be more than $5 per person each way.

Yeah the way I figure IF it comes with lunch its a good deal for $121 pp.

$105 gate + $5 taxi + $20?? Lunch = $130

Don't know which cruise line but when I was at Atlantis in January a group came up to get lunch while I was also in line and they had vouchers for a lunch combo--sandwich,drink, fries--it was clear to me that the worker behind the counter was very familiar with the vouchers which leads me to believe some cruise lines include lunch.

Yes, there are certainly some cruise tours that include a food voucher.. we just can't be sure about the one the OP is asking about.. it's just not clear.

OP, I know exactly what you're asking about.. at Carnival's site there are TWO choices for this excursion - one that comes WITH lunch and one that excludes lunch.

Clearly one of the two excursions includes lunch or they wouldn't offer one with the words "not including lunch" for the other.

Some people just like to be argumentative... I wouldn't worry about it. Looks like you're choosing one that comes WITH lunch.
