Island princess wireless internet???

RB

Recommended Posts

I just got off the Island Princess (first ever cruise) and I was able to use wireless internet from my inside cabin. It's not cheap, $100 for 240 minutes (approximately, I don't remember the exact number). There were a couple of lower price brackets and lesser times. By buying on the first day I got an additional 30 minutes added on to my 240.

I already had a wireless card in my laptop and you simply connect to the network with "Princess" in the name. You're given a user name that's a combination of your cabin number and your initials and you come up with a password.

The speed is better than dial-up but slower than a cable modem. The time you use is cumulative, you don't have to use it all in one continuous block, and if you get up and leave and forget to "logoff" your session times out fairly quickly.

There is a support person during the day at the internet cafe that can answer questions once your aboard.
