Snorkeling at Labadee

Not very good snorkeling, IMO. We bring our own stuff and will go in and mess around a bit, but I’d be very disappointed if we paid for it. Not many fish, and what we did see weren’t the bright, pretty “Caribbean” fish we were hoping for. Also not much in the way of live coral.

Are you going to Cayman or Cozumel? Both of these islands would be far better choices for snorkeling.

Labadee has very good snorkeling from shore. When you get off the tender just walk straight through the park to the other side, about 200 yards or so.

The good part of the reef is about 100 yards or so off shore and is way better than anything you will find from shore at Cozumel. You need to carefully navigate your way through the reef to the ocean, deep side to see the good stuff, big fish, big stag horn, brain coral, pretty much right under the zip line.

This swim is not easy and absolutely NOT for beginners however. If you can't keep your knees up you are not ready for it.
