ohcruiser04 Posted January 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Does anyone know what time the shared shuttle service for the rental car companies start to ferry people over to the cruise port? I will be arriving at the airport around 10am.
Bequia Posted January 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Call your car rental company to confirm, they were running from 8 am to 5 pm on Saturday's and Sunday's. The Rental Car Center at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) houses many rental car companies under one roof that share a shuttle bus to and from Port Everglades. They suggest you confirm shuttle service with the car rental service prior to reserving a vehicle.
crischickie Posted January 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2009 You don't have to worry about 10AM. The shuttles start early because they are ferrying people coming off the cruise.
cot427 Posted January 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2009 I just wanted to share a weird but great experience we had with our rental car return. We rented a car in June from Hotwire and got Avis. They were fantastic, but upon return, we asked the return guy where we go to get the shuttle for the Port Everglades. He then brought over a guy and the guy drove us over in the car to the ship. It was really nice.

The 17th Street Budget location is easier and quicker to get in and out of. Even if they can't shuttle you the 5 minute cab ride from their offices to the port is only around $10. /////

barking16 Posted January 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2009 Thanks for the info, I'm all for easier and makes sense to avoid the airport crowd even if it costs a bit more. It's hints like this from friendly folks which make these boards so great! The 17th Street Budget location is easier and quicker to get in and out of.
