zebra Posted November 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2004 Can anyone tell me about Louisette - we have booked her for our tour of Les Baux and Aix en Provence. What was your experience like? We like the mix of historical sites plus some alone time to shop and explore. Also was there any town that you would suggest that we substitute - we are open to all suggestions! sundial Posted November 15, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2004 We hired Louisette Durand to pick us up at the port in Marseille when our ship docked there in July. She drives a nice van and was right there on time when we got off the ship. She took our family of four to Aix, Les Baux, and Arles on a day tour. She is very nice and certainly knows her way around the area, but be aware that her English is a bit limited at times and she is more of a driver than a guide. Mostly she just gives suggestions and drops you off to let you explore on your own. We enjoyed all of our stops, especially Les Baux. We got caught in a traffic jam outside Marseille on our way back to the ship (Radisson Diamond) and if Louisette had not had a contact at the port who called the captain for us we would have missed our sailing! Fortunately we arrived only fifteen minutes after the scheduled departure time and they waited for us. Overall we were pleased with Louisette. LEtue Posted December 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 19, 2004 How do I contact her? Does she have a website?
ClaudiaF Posted December 19, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 19, 2004 We used her and agree with last post. She was really super, limited English ( but with our limited French it all worked out and we had a great time). We went to Les Baux ( wonderful medival village), Aix en Provence ( pretty town with a main street like Champs Elysees) and Cassis. With nice scenery drives in between.
