Long Beach cruisers - tell me about the Hyatt

Hi everyone,

Just got a great deal on the Hyatt Regency (Priceline) for the night before our cruise next March. For those of you who have stayed there before or know the area, can you tell me a few things?....

 

1. Does the hotel have a complimentary shuttle to the pier? If not, can you recommend the best way to get there? 3 people with 1 large suitcase and 1 carry-on apiece...

 

2. Is this hotel within walking distance of restaurants, fun area to hang out, etc.? Our flight will arrive in time to have us at the hotel before noon....we'll have a whole day to kill!

There is a nice little entertainment area called Shoreline Village just down the street (www.shorelinevillage.com) see their map and the Hyatt is next to the convention center and you're not too far from the Aquarium of the Pacific, which can be cool. If you don't want to walk there is a free shuttle www.lbtransit.com that can take you. If you want to go a little further afield there are a whole bunch of places in Belmont shore I can recommend. I think the Hyatt shuttle will take you to the ship, but call the Hyatt at 562-491-1234 to make sure.
