Knights on the Beach Posted January 19, 2009 #26 Share Posted January 19, 2009 I bring the opened bottle to the table, and never been charged. We've done that too, but sometimes it was a result of having bought the bottle of wine in a lounge before dinner. css Posted January 21, 2009 #27 Share Posted January 21, 2009 I'm curious if the size of the bottle of wine is restricted to the 750 size or can I bring a 1.50?
kelz66 Posted January 21, 2009 #28 Share Posted January 21, 2009 In checked luggage, not a problem. That is correct. :D
Thirsty Cruiser Posted January 21, 2009 #29 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Just open the wine in your cabin and take a glass of wine with you to dinner. One glass would never make the trip from my cabin to the DR. :o So do I, but I wish they "allowed" you to carry on more than one bottle each. If a cruise is 3 nights, you can bring one bottle; if your cruise is 7 nights, you can bring one bottle. Doesn't make much sense to me, but I'm glad they allow it in the first place. You can also check a bottle or two, if you are willing to risk breakage. I'm curious if the size of the bottle of wine is restricted to the 750 size or can I bring a 1.50? Technically, it is 750 ml. Antloe Posted January 21, 2009 #31 Share Posted January 21, 2009 So basically. I bought a bottle of wine from the bon voyage dept. I board the ship and take the bottle to any bar to uncork it and bring it back to my room. I wont pay the fee? correct?
tnt091605 Posted January 21, 2009 #32 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Just open the wine in your cabin and take a glass of wine with you to dinner. Or you could just take the box with you! Classy!

Take a corkscrew in your checked luggage - or ask your cabin steward for one. They have small ones as giveaways. Corkage relates only to the dining room. However, since you bought your wine from Bon Voyage, you can take it to the dining room and let them know that. You certainly won't be charged. OR you can just enjoy it in your cabin. yst347 Posted January 21, 2009 #34 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Yes...you should be able to have anyone open your wine. I would think an opener would be included with the bon voyage delivery.
Antloe Posted January 21, 2009 #35 Share Posted January 21, 2009 because for me the wine is for the cabin not the dinner.. A personal prefrence i guess.
RVman Posted January 21, 2009 #36 Share Posted January 21, 2009 We brought two bottles to dinner with us on the Legend a couple weeks ago and they charged us 10.00 dollars corking fee per bottle. We love wine with our meals.
Knights on the Beach Posted January 24, 2009 #37 Share Posted January 24, 2009 Or you could just take the box with you! Classy!A little tactless, don't you think? It really isn't that different than if you were having a pre-dinner drink in one of the lounges and you carried your drink into the dining room with you.
