tetons Posted January 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2009 These boards are so helpful. I am a lurky year round until I have one booked then I ask lots of questions. Have not tried anytime dining and thought this might be the trip to do it on? For those of you have done this on the Golden in Alaska in previous years, do you have to wait very long and were the selections of dining rooms good. I have always gone traditional dining and love to get to know the waiters. Does it end up taking longer to eat with anytime dining vs. traditional? I know when you eat on the ship at lunch in one of the dining rooms, they make you wait until your table or section is full before actually taking orders which takes so much longer. I also like to go to the shows and have time to get there.
neecee23 Posted January 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 20, 2009 We sailed on the Star (sister to the Golden) last summer. We only had to wait for a short time one night at the anytime dining room. There are two so should be no problem. You can make a reservation for a specific time and table if you find waiters that you like. While I liked being able to go to dinner when we wished, it was hard having different waiters every night. I missed having the same waiter who learned your preferences.
