Evil Scotsman Posted January 21, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2009 throw me any questions.. You MAY be sorry you said that! :D 1. What was the shows (Vegas Style) that were on while you were aboard? 2. Which nights are the formal Nights? 3. Movies they showed on the big screen (by the pool???) Thank You for your kindness, some people get very annoyed by such newbie question. Cheers :o
deepnite10 Posted January 21, 2009 Author #8 Share Posted January 21, 2009 Scotsman, 1. What was the shows (Vegas Style) that were on while you were aboard? Each night there was a Vegas Style show, comedian or magic show..the triumph dancers kicked ass..as well as their Director, Ryan.. 2. Which nights are the formal Nights? it was named Elegant night..some wore suits and dress s..other less formal but were neatly dressed..did nt see any tux s..second night was the first.. here they did serve up a small lobster w/tiger shrimp..everyone at the table order d a second..:Dthe other Elegant night was towards the end of the week, Friday i believe 3. Movies they showed on the big screen (by the pool???) There certainly were movies on the wide screen..however, the wiife and i caught up on the many pay-per-views in the cabin.. by the middle the week i knew i left out something..i should have taken pictures of the FOOD.. dumb me..it would have been better of me to have gotten pictures of the dish s they served each night..along with the menu s..and of course, the daily capers. it s all hind sight now and i ll learn from this.. deepnite10 Posted February 14, 2009 Author #10 Share Posted February 14, 2009 second or 3 page of the CCL forum is my review..i tried to cover as much as i could..it s also in the Ship Review section as well.. the first group of pictures were all from our hotel room at the Holiday Inn.. a nice precruise activity are the tour s offered thru the hotel..as you can see we did the Everglades tour.. i had 4 Starbuck s gift cards from Christmas and we spent alot of time at the Bayside Starbucks..had dinner the first night at Bubba Gumps ..and the Knife the night befor the cruise.. other s will differ..but, we really enjoyed Bayside..each night were bands.. a real rocking place..lots of shop s if your looking for gifts to take back home..DON T SPEND ALL YOUR MONEY HERE..like us:o.. they did nt have a Wells Fargo Bank..and the wife left the ATM card at home....nearly $400 gone in 2 nights..it was nt till we boarded the Triumph that we were able to more cash for all the shopping at the ports of call.. cruiserCP Posted February 18, 2009 #11 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Your slideshow was so well done. We did almost the same cruise, the week before out of Galveston, sailing on the Conquest. You docked in Ochos Rios and we were in MoBay. I like the looks of OR better. Thanks for sharing. caryn
pacarolinagirl Posted February 18, 2009 #12 Share Posted February 18, 2009 Great photo slideshow. We're doing the Cayman's & Cozumel. I have about 80 more days to go but your slideshow is making me more excited if that's even possible. LOL! :)
deepnite10 Posted February 18, 2009 Author #13 Share Posted February 18, 2009 we did nt really need to take a tour while in Grand Cayman.. the main shopping area and Margaritaville is right across the street from the pier..we could easily have spent the day there.. Margaritaville is upstairs..and though there s no beach front, there is a pool to enjoy if it was hot..as it was, it was overcast most of the day.. though there were moments in Ocho Rios..we never felt uncomfortable in Grand Cayman or Cozumel.. KGHalbe Posted February 28, 2009 #19 Share Posted February 28, 2009 I am going to the Western Caribbean (George Town, Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico) in September 2009. Did your ship dock in George Town ? And if it did, how far is Hell ? Do we need to take a bus or cab, or can we walk ? I really liked your photoshow - and now it made me even more anxious for my trip. Thanks !!!
deepnite10 Posted March 1, 2009 Author #20 Share Posted March 1, 2009 Hell is nt walking distance from the pier area..if you do want to see it it s best to see it along with another tour..the only thing there is that lime stone garden and a little shop..we took the Turtle Tour which included Hell.. the ship s do not dock in George Town..they tender to the pier area.. KGHalbe Posted March 1, 2009 #21 Share Posted March 1, 2009 Thanks for the reply. Many people have told me to go to Hell, (when I take my trip), and it is something that I would really like to be able to say I have been too ! (Besides working there for 40 years - at a remote location I guess). I am a newbie, as this is only my second cruise. I had to look up the word TENDERED. On my first cruise, we docked at 4 islands so I thought that is what they always did. I wasn't aware that the cruise lines did that - but that isn't a problem. I do like to know, kind of, what to expect, so I do appreciate the information. Thanks to you, AND to the Cruise Critic Board I am getting lots of information. I wish I knew about this place before my first cruise. Ken
