Gift Certificates OR Pay on Credit Card after cruise?

Hi, I was wondering what is everyones preference. Do you prefer to buy gift certificates so that you have on board credit towards things OR do you just prefer to give them your credit card, and pay for everything after the cruse? I am going to be going on a cruise for the first time and wanted everyones advice about this. Thanks!!!:)

I always use our CC and pay for it. Then when we get home we pay it off. Since we have Royal CC, love the double points. I know I would get them either way, but I would rather keep my money until the last minute. Just put it on the card and when I get home I pay it as soon as the statement comes in.
