Catalina Island

Recommended Posts

Try this....go to rccl.com, place cursor over "before you board" and a menu will drop down. Click on "shore and land excursions" and when you get to that page scroll down and click on "browse ports of call". When you see the list of ports, go down and click on "all ports". On this page you can click on Catalina Island and when you get to that page there is a place to click on "show me cruises to this port" or something like that.

I'm sure someone else here can tell you a simpler way to do this, but this is what works for me.

The only cruise that regularly offered Catalina as a port was the 4-night cruise from Los Angeles on Monarch of the Seas. Monarch departed LA in October and RCI did not replace her.

It's easy to get to Catalina from LA, though - if you book a 7-night cruise (Mariner is doing that run for RCI), come in a couple of days early. The Catalina Express boat takes about 90 minutes (unless they're only using the high speed boats now, in which case it takes less than an hour) to get there, and if you go early you can have a nice, long day there. Or stay over a night and come back in the morning. :)

The only way to get to Catalina as part of a cruise right now is by Carnival cruise ship:mad:!

Celebrity occasionally goes there as well. The Millenium stops there on the 9/28/09 Pacific Northwest "Wine" Cruise (12 Nighter). Mercury goes there on the 10/12/09 "Wine" Cruise (11 Nighter).
