fig414 Posted January 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I saw this on another thread and I think it's a great idea. We're around 50 so it's not a kid thing. This thread will obviously be for folks who like to do this sort of thing on occasion. How many times do you plop yourself down at a bar to watch a game or just to hang out, and order whatever? Wings, burgers, wraps etc. Why not on a cruise? We are also not adverse to get to one of our restaurants with GOOD food and encounter a long wait and have dinner at the bar. Steak, fish or whatever entree as long as the place is upscale. Should Carnival consider this or am I talking crazy. I know a cruise ship is not a restaurant or a sports bar, but when I'm on board for 8 nights I KNOW we'd hit one of these bars to break up the sameness of the dining room for dinner. Would it be free like on the Lido deck? Doubtful. Highly doubtful. I know everyone hates getting nickeled and dimed for food but we might go for this for a change of pace. I'll bet no one ever figured they'd pay extra for a Supper Club but they do in today's cruising world.. We do and love it. Why not at a bar? Am I nuts? G'ma Posted January 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I'm sure there's some sort of health regulation about that somewhere. A ship isn't like the neighborhood bar. On Liberty earlier this month, they had a sushi cart set up at the end of the bar near the casino that was open from about 5:00PM until the late dining crowd left....and the bar set out dry snack things. jam82 Posted January 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Try NCL. I've sailed on the Sun and they had a tapa's bar and a sports bar, both with food.
